The Dosa Expedition Recipes | | Resturant in Delhi

Paper Masala Dosa
The paper masala as the name goes is thin and crisp.
When you plan to have a dosa you do two things; you either go to a friend’s house where you can get an authentic dosa, or go to a restaurant which serves the best dosas in the city. When you are then given a wide choice of rava dosa, masala dosa, onion cheese dosa, butter dosa, plain dosa, onion masala dosa and a host of other names, what happens to you? Now given the fact that you are a dosa fan, you would go crazy which one to order? Cheese, butter, plain, paper, rava, onion and masala play havoc with your senses before you have even taken a bite. I had the same experience when I went to a popular outlet in South Kolkata, famous for their South Indian platter. The menu was mind boggling, but I straightaway went to the dosa page. My friend, her kid and I settled for a Paper Masala Dosa, Onion Masala Dosa and Masala Dosa respectively.

Onion Masala Dosa: The stuffing matters
A dosa is extremely filling and is a meal in itself. I think it should never be treated as a snack. These days there are so many forms of dosas. I came across a restaurant which served chicken dosa, egg dosa, keema dosa and so on. The experimentation of food continues in India and how can dosa or uttapam be spared, hence this onslaught. I am not sure how our friends from South India would react to this, but this restaurant is doing brisk business I’ve heard. To me this concoction seems more like an egg roll or chicken roll, rather than a dosa. But then if you are in the mood for adventure then why not, anything will do. Of course with all the extra calories for free!
